Cancer Institute Warns of Cell Phone Risks
For the full article click on the link below
http://ping.fm/J6Bpm
The head of a prominent cancer research institute has issued an unprecedented
warning to his faculty and staff: Limit cell phone use because of the possible risk of cancer.
The warning came from Dr. Ronald B. Herberman, director of the University of Pittsburgh
Cancer Institute. Herberman says his warning is based on early unpublished data. He argues
that people should take action now -- especially when it comes to children.
"Really at the heart of my concern is that we shouldn't wait for a definitive study to
come out, but err on the side of being safe rather than sorry later," Herberman said.
There are many simple precautions that you can take to reduce your exposure to
information-carrying radiowaves and the electromagnetic radiation emitted from
your cell phone – both of which are hazardous to your health. Here are my best guidelines:
* Children Should Never Use Cell Phones: Barring a life-threatening emergency,
children should not use a cell phone, or a wireless device of any type. Children are far
more vulnerable to cell phone radiation than adults, because of their thinner skull bones.
* Reduce Your Cell Phone Use: Turn your cell phone off more often.
Reserve it for emergencies or important matters.
* Use A Land Line At Home And At Work: Although more and more people are
switching to using cell phones as their exclusive phone contact, it is a dangerous
trend and you can choose to opt out of the madness.
* Reduce or Eliminate Your Use of Other Wireless Devices: You would be wise to
cut down your use of these devices. Just as with cell phones, it is important to ask
yourself whether or not you really need to use them every single time. If you must
use a portable home phone, use the older kind that operates at 900 MHz.
They are no safer during calls, but at least they do not broadcast constantly even when no call is being made.
* Use Your Cell Phone Only Where Reception Is Good: The weaker the reception,
the more power your phone must use to transmit, and the more power it uses,
the more radiation it emits, and the deeper the dangerous radio waves penetrate into
your body. Ideally, you should only use your phone with full bars and good reception.
* Turn Your Cell Phone Off When Not In Use: As long as your cell phone is on,
it emits radiation intermittently, even when you are not actually making a call.
* Keep Your Cell Phone Away From Your Body When It Is On: The most
dangerous place to be, in terms of radiation exposure, is within about six inches
of the emitting antenna. You do not want any part of your body within that area.
* Use Safer Headset Technology: Wired headsets will certainly allow you to
keep the cell phone farther away from your body. However, if a wired headset
is not well-shielded -- and most of them are not -- the wire itself acts as an antenna
attracting ambient information carrying radio waves and transmitting radiation directly
to your brain. Make sure that the wire used to transmit the signal to your ear is shielded.
The best kind of headset to use is a combination shielded wire and air-tube headset.
These operate like a stethoscope, transmitting the information to your head as an actual
sound wave; although there are wires that still must be shielded, there is no wire that goes all the way up to your head.
I hope you enjoyed this research.

Practice Gem of the Month:
"How do I run a successful wellness chiropractic practice without using scare tactics?"
By Dr. Russ Rosen
Founder and CEO of Rosen Coaching
PATIENT SCARE VS. PATIENT CARE
There are companies out there that pride themselves on "scaring their patients" into submission
by using threats of the "devastating effects of subluxations." Rest assured, I absolutely understand
the life limiting and devastating effects of subluxations, but I do not ever feel it is appropriate or
necessary to "scare someone into care."
Imagine yourself a new patient in my office, you are in pain and you are scared. You have already heard
weird things about these cracktopopers, and I come in to greet you and I start to scare the heck out of you... remember
that is my intent. I start telling you about the devastating effects of this subluxation and that you will die a miserable slow death
if you don't become a patient of mine for life... How is your breathing, how do you feel? Do you feel that you can heal from this
space? As a doctor is this the place you want to open up a relationship with another human being who is in need?
We've all been manipulated by hype and fear. We've had the high pressure car salesperson put the pen in our hand and tell us to sign. So, how did that feel for you? When people try to scare you into a relationship or agreement it may work for the short run, but does it work for the long run? Does it lead to long term healthy enjoyable relationships?
I remember being with a group of chiropractors using a very well known practice management company, and they were boasting about how many people burst into tears when the doctor finally told the patient the terrible news, that they had subluxations. The doctors felt that if the patients did not react the same as if they were told they had cancer, then the doctors didn't do their job right.
In my experience there are better, more honest and honoring ways to communicate what we know with our patients, while attaining better results in the long run.
From my perspective, running a successful chiropractic practice is all about connecting with and empowering other human beings; not about controlling your patients. It's about using "patient care tactics" not "patient scare tactics." I don't feel it is ever needed or appropriate to use fear tactics or hype them up on emotions to get them to sign, or to do what we want them to do.
Patient Care is all about treating our patients as we would want to be treated.
Start by assuming your patients are bright, intelligent and loving human beings who want the same thing you want; - a solution to their problems. Learn to listen and speak your truth in an honoring non-confrontational way. Tell your patients what I call truth and consequences, always give them reasonable choices and you will never need to dishonor yourself or them with "scare tactics" again.

How do you make more money and convert more patients using the Internet?
“Beyond Website Traffic, Where is the Beef, Conversion Counts” by Matt Prados
Co-Founder www.ChiropracticTraffic.com
Many people talk about driving traffic to your website or having your site ranked
high on Google. I have consulted so many chiropractors that have that yet with their poorly
designed website or virtual brochure they may get 100 people per month to visit
their site but 0 calls!
With only 50,000 chiropractors in the US that would mean about 80 new patient leads for
each doctor if they were evenly spread out. Are you getting your fair share?
A survey done in 2006 showed that 74% of adults in the US go to the internet
when they want to learn about something or make a new purchase.
Do you get 80 leads per week?
Do you have a virtual brochure? Look at your website and see if you were a patient in pain looking for help would
your website be enough to get you to call in to your office?
If you think so now look is your phone number even on the front page?
Funny but true.
The chiropractic profession needs to stop looking at their websites as a
chiropractor and start looking as a patient in pain.
Start studying “conversion optimization” this is what is wrong with 99% of all
chiropractic website today.
Because at the end of the day if your site isn’t producing new patients why bother
having it?
Any website design company worth the price of admission should not have any longer
term contract because if you aren’t happy with their service you should be able
to walk away.
May all your traffic convert!

Check out the article written: Ruin Your Health With the Obama Stimulus Plan: Betsy McCaughey
Presented by Chiropracticjobfinder.com
This was sent to me today so please read below as it is VERY important about the future healthcare in the U.S....
(Click the link below… or cut and paste the url into your browser)
Basically, the article says doctors must lose autonomy and
there will be "penalties" if they don't treat patients the way the
government says they should...

Here is the full article
Ruin Your Health With the Obama Stimulus Plan: Betsy McCaughey
Commentary by Betsy McCaughey
Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Republican Senators are questioning whether President Barack Obama’s stimulus bill contains the right mix of tax breaks and cash infusions to jump-start the economy.
Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.
Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).
The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.
But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”
Keeping doctors informed of the newest medical findings is important, but enforcing uniformity goes too far.
New Penalties
Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time” (511, 518, 540-541)
What penalties will deter your doctor from going beyond the electronically delivered protocols when your condition is atypical or you need an experimental treatment? The vagueness is intentional. In his book, Daschle proposed an appointed body with vast powers to make the “tough” decisions elected politicians won’t make.
The stimulus bill does that, and calls it the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (190-192). The goal, Daschle’s book explained, is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are driving up costs. He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.
Elderly Hardest Hit
Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.
Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill would change that and apply a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).
The Federal Council is modeled after a U.K. board discussed in Daschle’s book. This board approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis.
In 2006, a U.K. health board decreed that elderly patients with macular degeneration had to wait until they went blind in one eye before they could get a costly new drug to save the other eye. It took almost three years of public protests before the board reversed its decision.
Hidden Provisions
If the Obama administration’s economic stimulus bill passes the Senate in its current form, seniors in the U.S. will face similar rationing. Defenders of the system say that individuals benefit in younger years and sacrifice later.
The stimulus bill will affect every part of health care, from medical and nursing education, to how patients are treated and how much hospitals get paid. The bill allocates more funding for this bureaucracy than for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force combined (90-92, 174-177, 181).
Hiding health legislation in a stimulus bill is intentional. Daschle supported the Clinton administration’s health-care overhaul in 1994, and attributed its failure to debate and delay. A year ago, Daschle wrote that the next president should act quickly before critics mount an opposition. “If that means attaching a health-care plan to the federal budget, so be it,” he said. “The issue is too important to be stalled by Senate protocol.”
More Scrutiny Needed
On Friday, President Obama called it “inexcusable and irresponsible” for senators to delay passing the stimulus bill. In truth, this bill needs more scrutiny.
The health-care industry is the largest employer in the U.S. It produces almost 17 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product. Yet the bill treats health care the way European governments do: as a cost problem instead of a growth industry. Imagine limiting growth and innovation in the electronics or auto industry during this downturn. This stimulus is dangerous to your health and the economy.

February Practice Gem:
6 Chiropractic Internet Marketing Tactics That Work(For the full version of his article, please contact Dr. Loop. His company's information is below)
Are you a chiropractor who's purchased an expensive website, only to find that new patients are not knocking your door down like your practice management group promised you? If you don't have a steady stream of online traffic, your office will not be noticed or found.
When it comes down to it, getting boatloads of traffic couldn't be easier in today's time. The problem is, chiropractic internet marketing that works is NOT taught in school and hardly any consultants are teaching it. Thesetraffic generation methods have been single-handedly responsible for me generating over five figures every month just in online income.
1. first thing that you can do is begin to implement article marketing. I recommend at least writing one article a week yourself.
2. Get a blog going for your practice. Once your blog is up, you'll want to add to it a few times a week. You can include articles, videos, press releases or podcasts on the blog. Blogs get indexed very well by the search engines as well. Wordpress and LiveJournal are two of the main hosts out there you may want to consider.
3. Third, regular posting on forums like Yahoo Answers is a good way to get good traffic. Make it a habit to take 15 minutes a day to post comments in relevant and highly targeted forums.
4. Continuing on, social networking (AKA social marketing) is another solid Web 2.0 medium to use with your chiropractic internet marketing campaign. Social media sites likeLinkedIn, Facebook, Myspace, and Friendster can allow you to easily connect with members in your community and create trust.
5. pay per click ( or PPC) advertising. Google, MSN, Yahoo, and other networks offer this targeted service as a way to get instant traffic to your chiropractic website. Make sure you set a spending limit every day so you don't go broke.
6. Finally, we arrive at chiropractic video marketing. It's been said recently, and I can tell you from a great deal of personal experience, that video is the most powerful medium for allowing yourtarget market or local community to get to know you!
Application of each of these proven tactics in your chiropractic internet marketing arsenal has the potential to dramatically change your practice life.

Goal Setting for the New Year!
HOME
Presented by Chiropracticjobfinder.com

December Practice Gem:
Day 92 : How To Set Goals
Presented by YeartoSuccess.com
It is a 365 day program that is free and this is Day 92 which is perfect to review before the New Year.
Brainstorm. Before you choose a single goal to set and focus on, use a blank sheet of paper to write down as quickly as possible all the things you want in the following categories: Artistic, Career, Educational, Ethical, Family, Financial, Mental,
Physical, Pleasure, Social, Spiritual, and any other. There is no need to include detail here. Once you have created this list, prioritize each of the items on your list. This will allow you to begin immediately focusing on the potential goals that are most important to you.
Goal Setting Steps
- Identify your goal. Pick the goal you will be setting and write the goal in positive terms
as if you have already reached the goal. For example, "I weigh a lean, mean 170 pounds".
Make sure your goal is quantifiable, that is, do not simply say "I want to be lean".
Write your goal with as much detail as possible at this time while remaining flexible. For example,
on your way to purchase a red Ferrari, if you find that you like the silver Ferrari much better, then buy that one. - Put your goal through the test by asking questions. Is this really your goal or someone else's goal?
Is this goal bold enough? Do you honestly believe you can achieve this goal? If not, why? List the limiting
beliefs you have and change your beliefs. Does this goal conflict with any of your other goals? How would you
feel 5, 10, 20 and 50 years from now if you never achieved this goal? Would it really matter? Having asked and
answered all of these questions about your goal, do you still want this goal? - Set a "maturity date" for your goal's achievement. It is important to have both long and short-term goals.
Set the exact day that this goal will be achieved. - Identify the obstacles you must overcome in order to achieve your goal. Who or what will be an obstacle for you in
the process of pursuing this goal? How can you overcome these obstacles? - Identify the people, groups and organizations you need to work with in order to achieve your goal. Must you
rely on others to meet this goal? Or perhaps with help from others this goal can more easily be met? - Identify the skills and knowledge needed to help you achieve your goal. What can you learn that will help you achieve this goal?
- Ask yourself if you are willing to pay the price in order to enjoy the benefits. A goal is a goal because of the
effort it takes to achieve. Is that effort worth it to you? Are you willing to overcome the obstacles, work with the
people, and acquire the skills needed to see this goal through? Are you 100% committed to this goal? - List benefits of achieving and reasons why you are committed to your goal, and visualize yourself having already achieved the goal.
What pain will you experience in your life if you do not achieve this goal? Here you create enough leverage to convince
yourself that you must absolutely reach your goal. It is this step where you turn the want into desire.
Repeat the steps above for each of your goals. Once you do this, you will have created a clear strategy to the
achievement of your goals. Tomorrow, we will conclude this three-day section on goals with the most important
aspect of goals, which is the achievement of them.

"A Rich Dad's Lesson: Never Stop Promoting"
By: Robert Kiyosaki
Author of the Rich Dad series of books, is an investor, entrepreneur & educator whose perspectives have changed the way we view money & investing.
A few days ago, I spoke at a luncheon with approximately 500 local business leaders. I began with these words: "I have good news and bad news. The good news is you will have fewer competitors next year because many of your competitors will be out of business. The bad news is you might be one of
those out of business."
I then showed them my local newspaper, pointing to the headline
"Businesses Are Struggling." I opened the newspaper and said, "I can tell you who will be in business." I pointed to a full-page ad for a local appliance store.
"I'll bet money that this business will be here next year. Why? Because
this business is advertising more aggressively than its competition."
In previous issues of Entrepreneur, I've written about the importance of
advertising and promotion. I've shared my Rich dad's lesson that when
business drops off, many entrepreneurs listen to their accountant's
advice and cut back on advertising and promotion. That's the worst thing you can do. When times get tough, your job is to promote more, not less.
Promotion is a six-week cycle. That means if I promote today, business
increases six weeks later. Many businesses violate the six-week cycle.
They promote for, say, four weeks, and because nothing happens, they stop. Two weeks later, there's a sudden increase in business. For four weeks,
business remains strong. Then, just as suddenly, business drops off, because six weeks earlier, the entrepreneur had stopped promoting.
My rich dad's lesson was to never stop promoting: Promote whether the
economy is strong or weak; promote even when you may not have the money.
If you have no money, stand on a street corner at lunchtime with a sign
hanging around your neck promoting your product or service. Not only will you meet new customers, but you might also save money on lunch, lose some weight and get a suntan.
Obviously, it takes more than just promotion to do well. To be
successful, a business also requires strong fundamentals and a desirable product or service. During tough economic times, though, even some good businesses fail; some businesses shrink and others grow. When a business closes, its customers migrate to the business that fights hard and stays open.
Businesses that promote while others cut their ad budgets have a better
chance of getting bigger . . . even if the economy is shrinking.
